History

The Dejana “Family” of companies was started by Peter Dejana, our founder, owner and president, as a landscaping business in 1962. Over the years the company has grown into a family of operating companies, providing services throughout the eastern U.S., the mid-west and as far west as Denver, Colorado.

In its core businesses, the Dejana “Family” of companies hold significant market share both in the services provided nationwide as well as in the immediate geographical area.  In combination with its sister companies, it operates one of North America’s largest street sweeping concerns. Aero Snow (one of the sister companies) is one of the largest snow removal companies in the world, as well as being the most technologically advanced with highly sophisticated melters, snow plows and sweepers. Aero Snow Removal companies operate in 7 states and at nine of the nation’s largest airports in addition to seaports, sports complexes, cities, towns, and villages.

As other opportunities have presented themselves the Dejana “Family” of  companies  has branched out into providing additional services such as:  catch basin cleaning, solid waste removal, equipment rentals, and real estate development to name just a few.

The affiliated companies operate with a good deal of autonomy, as distinct and separate units with independent local management.  The local management reports to the principal executive working at our home office in Port Washington, New York.

Dejana Industries, Inc. is the original company incorporated in New York in 1962 and is involved in street sweeping, catch basin cleaning, snow removal, solid waste removal, litter collection programs and other miscellaneous services for municipal and commercial customers within the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Illinois.

Dejana Enterprises, Inc. was incorporated in New York in 1990 and provides street sweeping services and catch basin cleaning services to municipal and commercial customers in the Metropolitan New York area.

Dejana Services, Inc. was incorporated in New York in 1993 and provides maintenance services which require union operators including sweeping, high pressure water cleaning and catch basin cleaning primarily at the major airports in the New York area (JFK International and LaGuardia).

Aero Snow Removal Corp. was incorporated in New Jersey in 1983 and primarily provides snow removal services at the major airports in the Metropolitan New York area including JFK International, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty International and Philadelphia International. The work consists of “pushing and piling” of snow, and/or melting snow.

Aero Snow Removal Corp. (ILL) was incorporated in Illinois in 1992 and provides snow removal services at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport as well as having provided snow removal services at Chicago’s Midway Airport and for the City of Chicago. The work consists of “pushing and piling” of snow, rental of snow removal equipment, and/or melting snow.

Aero Snow Removal Corp. (MASS) was incorporated in Massachusetts in 1992 and provides snow removal services at Boston’s Logan International Airport. The work consists of “pushing and piling” of snow, and/or melting snow.

Aero Snow Removal Corp. (CO) was incorporated in Colorado in 2007 and provides snow removal services at Denver International Airport.  The work consists of “pushing and piling” of snow, and/or melting snow.

Tech Leasing Corp. was incorporated in New York in 1982 and is engaged primarily in the leasing of heavy equipment throughout our ten (10) state operating area to both internal (within the group of affiliated companies) as well as external customers. The company also provides minor services required in connection with the leased equipment. Tech Leasing also has some real estate investment property.

East Coast Sweeping, Inc. was incorporated in Maryland in 1990 and provides street sweeping, catch basin cleaning, glycol recovery and snow removal throughout Maryland and Virginia including the Greater Baltimore / Washington Area. East Coast provides snow removal and melting services to Dulles International and Baltimore-Washington International Airports.

East Coast Sweeping, Inc. (D.C.) was incorporated in the District of Columbia in 2000 and provides snow removal, street sweeping and catch basin cleaning services to the District of Columbia.

American Sweeping Company, Inc. was incorporated in Massachusetts in 1991 and provides street sweeping, catch basin cleaning and snow removal services to various municipalities in the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island including the City of Boston, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the City of Providence.

Lynnfield Leasing Company is a leasing company based in Boston which provides equipment to American Sweeping.

Hunter Properties, Inc. is a real estate partnership with rental properties in Newark, NJ.

Dejana Properties, LLC is a real estate company which rents properties to Dejana Industries.

Putnam Development, LLC is a real estate development company.

New York Avenue, LLC is a real estate development company with property in Huntington, NY that it rents to Dejana Industries.

Guilford Road, LLC is a real estate development company with property in Annapolis Junction, MD that it rents to East Coast Sweeping Co., Inc.
